The color is GRAY....

The month of May has been a challenge in the Northeast, and I hear in lots of areas in the US. We have had 4-5 days of sun, but the remainder has been been lots of rain, and 'gray days." Like many, I have spent way too much time on the trainer, and have continued on the remodelling in the shop.

On Sunday I posted that I would lead a group ride in Pinkham Notch, in our neighboring state of NH. The forecast of doom and gloom provided lots of people with the option of simply staying home. One of my friends Kathy, and I decided to make the trip and hoped that the forecast would simply be accurate.. gray but dry.

We started out in the clouds, but even more importantly we were dry! It was truly WONDERFUL to be able to ride outside and share a ride... something that I think many of us take for granted sometimes. We kept climbing and enjoying what scenery we could see, and like us, lots of people were out and about to enjoy a dry day. There were lots of motorcyles on the road, people hiking, and it was truly a magical day. On the return trip to the car, the winds started to pick up and we were treated to blue skys and a wonderful view of Mt Washington and the surrounding peaks. It was absolutely wonderful! The only regret that I have was that I left the camera in the car.

  1. Jackie thanks so much for the information and the narrative of the most recent ride. As you know, I kind of jumped into the deep end when it comes to cycling.. the good news is I did not drown, and found a new activity to occupy my time and desire for adventure,OK addiction. I look forward to meeting and riding with the group.
